Laura Wright Biography
Mezzo-soprano Laura Wright is no stranger to performing at high profile events and broadcasting live to millions of people. She has written and performed for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II on numerous occasions, most memorably for her 90th birthday.
Laura wrote the anthem Invincible for The Invictus Games and performed it at the inaugural ceremony at the Queen Elizabeth Stadium and subsequently at the official Invictus Opening Ceremonies in Florida, Toronto and Sydney. After the death of Queen Elizabeth II, Laura became the first person to sing ‘God Save The King’ at a sporting event.
After winning BBC Chorister of the Year at the age of 15, Laura became one of the decade’s biggest selling artists. Laura has released 6 studio albums and is currently writing new music after releasing several singles with independent labels Idiom and Signum classics including ‘Here I Stand’ and ‘You’, the latter of which was written in 2020 as a thank you to NHS workers and performed live ahead of the Grand National at Aintree Racecourse.
Laura has been lucky enough to have performed in venues such as the Dodger Stadium L.A., Royal Opera House, Kensington Palace, O2 London Arena (and on the roof of the O2!), Wembley Stadium, Disney World, Old Trafford, Royal Albert Hall, Westminster Abbey, 10 Downing Street, Guildhall London, Grosvenor House, Chateaux de lax Croix des Garden in Cannes and the Great Wall of China.
