Funding for students 16-25
This is the subject that causes most worry, confusion and fear when young people are considering attending a specialist college such as RNC. We know it causes many sleepless nights, and some are even put off applying because they believe they will not be funded.
To make sure the process goes as smoothly as possible, you need to talk to your Careers, Connexions, Transitions, Careers Wales or LLDD Personal Adviser, or the equivalent, as soon as possible. They are likely to complete an S139a Learning Difficulty Assessment (LDA) with you. Some local authorities may instead complete an Education, Health and Care Plan, while students from Wales are more likely to have a Learning and Skills Plan or Moving Forward document. Whichever paperwork is used, the aim is to help you to plan your next steps and get the support you need to achieve your ambitions. From here you can come to RNC for a Pre-Entry Assessment and get the ball rolling.
