Welcome to the website for the IBSA Blind Football European Championships 2015. We are delighted that IBSA has chosen Hereford to host this exciting event, which takes place 22-29 August 2015.
In my role as Centre Manager for the venue (thePoint4, the state of the art sports centre which is part of the Royal National College for the Blind) I have seen many quality blind football matches played here. However the Blind Football World Cup, which we hosted in 2010 was, for me, an absolute triumph, with so many people coming along to watch and cheer the teams on.
My aim is to make the Blind Euros just as exciting, so do keep an eye on this website for more information as the weeks roll by. We will be posting updates, pictures, information and, of course, selling tickets.
There are some exceptional teams taking part in the tournament, including reigning European Champions Spain and the heavily fancied France and Germany. I know English supporters will get behind Head Coach Jon Pugh, Captain Keryn Seal, and the rest of the lads as they fight for a place at the Rio Paralympics 2016.
For visitors to the website from other countries, and perhaps some of the competing players who may be reading these pages, we welcome you too. My aim is to make sure that every team has a great tournament and enjoys their time here.
We are particularly looking forward to greeting the supporters who will make this such an exciting live event. This will be a family-friendly tournament with ticket prices aimed at making the matches accessible to all and a food village offering a range of refreshments. More information will be announced here in the coming weeks and months so keep checking back. You can also keep track of all the news via our blindeuros accounts on Facebook and Twitter.
