Courses for Students 16-25
The Royal National College for the Blind (RNC) has a long and proud history of delivering academic and vocational qualifications to students who are visually impaired. Students can access GCSEs, AS and A Levels, BTECs, OCRs and NVQs, all of which incorporate work based learning as well as theoretical knowledge.
Regardless of the course you decide to study, RNC will also offer you individual support to help ensure you reach your targets and goals. We call this your ‘core entitlement’ and it means that you will be allocated a team of professionals to support your academic or vocational progress, your personal and social development and to support your residential, medical and wellbeing needs.
You will also be able to access specialist training and support to help you develop your Independent Living Skills, Orientation and Mobility, Literacy and Numeracy, ICT skills, braille and braille technology and Key Life Skills.
Students who wish to pursue a place at university will also receive help and support in completing UCAS forms, whilst those wishing to move directly into paid or voluntary employment will learn valuable CV building and interview techniques.
