Qualification Level
NVQ Level 1 Award/Certificate.
NVQ Level 2 Award/Certificate/Diploma.
Duration of programme
1-3 years, dependent on the individual.
Entry Requirements
An interest in business and administrative skills would be an advantage; however entry requirements will be discussed individually during your Pre-Entry Assessment.
Course Information
This qualification is designed to prepare students for work in a business and administrative role, gaining theoretical knowledge and understanding along with performing a wide range of general administrative tasks through working in a real office environment (RNC Office Services).
An individualised set of Business and Administration related units are identified from within the following:
- Working within a business environment
- Communicating in a business environment
- Making and receiving telephone calls
- Meeting and welcoming visitors
- Using a filing system
- Archiving information
- Using office equipment
- Solving business problems
- Assisting in handling mail
- Using email
- Word processing software
- Research information
- Organising report data
- Minute taking
- Using electronic message systems
- Supporting the organising of an event
- Audio transcription
Teaching Methods
We have a team of experienced training and assessment staff who deliver the required theoretical knowledge and practical skills, along with strategies to complete tasks. Also providing tutoring, mentoring and preparation for realistic employment in business and administration roles. You will also benefit from having professional marketers coming in to deliver telephone research/telesales marketing training.

Work Based Learning
You will have weekly experience within RNC Office Services which includes reception duties and customer service, operating telephone switchboards, promotion, design and production of materials.
