Healthcare Support for Students Under 18
RNC’s Healthcare Centre Team is able to provide daily support to you if you have any medical, personal and emotional wellbeing needs.
As part of your Pre-Entry Assessment, you will have the opportunity to meet with the medical and healthcare teams and discuss your personal requirements. These discussions, and those with your family or carers, will help identify if there are any additional support needs. We will ensure that you are able to access this support for as long as you require.
Nurses and Medical Needs
Our team of experienced Registered Nurses oversee medical support and provision for all students at RNC. Their role is tailored to your specific needs, including:
- Medication management
- Running daily student surgeries
- Helping you to develop the confidence to independently manage your own healthcare needs
- Liaising with health professionals from your home area
- Helping you to access local NHS services
We understand that growing up and dealing with sight loss or a disability can lead to some emotional issues and stress. At RNC we offer an on-site British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP) accredited counselling service. This service enables you to access emotional and mental health support within a safe and confidential setting. From understanding the stresses of studying to helping you deal with personal issues, our team is on hand with help and support.
