Ben waves goodbye to RNC and hello to a new career at Dolphin Computer Access
Here’s a message from Ben, who was a student here at RNC for 2 years…
I am sure many of you know me already but in case you don’t, I’m the ever talking student with a guide dog called Len (you really can’t miss me).
I will be leaving RNC this week because I have been offered a job at Dolphin Computer Access in Worcester, as a Technical Support Apprentice.
I never imagined that I would be leaving so soon but I feel that it is the right time for me. It is a new adventure, something I did not see coming, but I am excited to take the chance and see what happens. Without being at RNC I would never have done this, I would never have dreamt of it. I wouldn’t have had the confidence. Now I feel I can go somewhere different to do something new and meet new people. I will be living on my own, which is a bit scary, but I have been self-catering at RNC for a few months, which has enabled me to gather the skills I’ll need.
This is a whole new challenge. I loved my work experience at Dolphin and this role appealed to me as soon as I saw it. Dolphin is a software company providing solutions for people with print disabilities. I’ll be providing admin support, installing and configuring hardware and software, assisting with product testing and providing email and telephone support to customers. I’m actually going to be paid to do something which really interests me, which is what we all want.
I would like to take this opportunity to say it has been an absolute pleasure knowing and working with everyone at RNC. I’ve had such a great time here, I will never forget it. To the staff, no matter how small or big your contributions to my time at RNC, you’ve all made a huge difference to my life. Without your hard work and dedication to the jobs you do, what I am about to undertake wouldn’t be possible. I never thought I could meet a team of such dedicated people as you all, I’ve had both tough times and good times while I’ve been here but I can never say I wasn’t supported (even when I’ve done silly things).
I’ll always remember you all; even those I haven’t met and will do my best to make the most of the opportunity you have given me. I’ll keep this short, so thank you again and I can’t describe how much I’ve enjoyed being here.
Many thanks and kind regards,
Ben and Len
