BTEC Business Studies success at RNC

Haydar stands between two balloon stands with stars on the top after the student Celebration of Achievement Awards

Following on from our successful A Level results and GCSE results days this month, we are still celebrating with our BTEC Business Studies Level 2 and Level 3 students achieving a 100% pass rate, 56% of whom achieved a distinction grade!

The RNC ethos encourages practical work-based learning as well embedding theoretical knowledge. We have worked with key local employers including BMW and Waitrose to learn about best business practice. Steve Ramsdale, Teacher in Charge of Business Studies, adds “The Level 3 students completed a unit on Recruitment and Selection and had to interview and be interviewed. During a French exchange at the College, Business students were able to interview the visiting French students. The Business students were also interviewed by the Manager of the Hereford Waitrose branch and he had very positive feedback for all, stating that had they been real interviews they all would have been offered a job!”

Haydar-Ali Ismail, 19 from Manchester was pleased with his result of Distinction*, Distinction* and said “I am really happy with my result, though I didn’t only study to achieve a grade. I wanted to increase my knowledge; I really enjoyed my course as it was so interesting.” Steve Ramsdale was delighted with the result “Haydar was a pleasure to teach, I really admired his dedication and drive; he set himself high targets and met them, I sometimes learnt from him too.”

Haydar is taking his passion for business onto University where he has earned a place at Manchester Metropolitan University studying Business Management. Studious Haydar said “I am really excited about starting the course but I almost feel guilty that I’m not doing any work over the summer!”

We wish all our 2015 leavers the best of luck in their future endeavours after RNC!
