It’s not too late to apply!
If you are thinking about your options for the future, RNC (Royal National College for the Blind) are an Ofsted Outstanding residential provider and we are still taking applications for a September 2018 start!
Whether you are still studying, or not currently in any form of education, employment or training; we accept applications from anyone who is blind or partially sighted who will be between the age of 16-25 in September.
We have a wide range of course programmes to choose from at RNC which include academic studies as well as vocational courses for national qualifications including A Levels, NVQs, BTECs etc.
At RNC we recognise that college life is not just about gaining qualifications, it is about building the whole person and the Outstanding Ofsted report highlighted that “Students make exceptional progress from their starting points. They make vast improvements in their confidence, social skills and independence skills.”
All students at RNC have an individualised timetable so as well as their core programme area they will also have a mixture of independent living skills, mobility, IT skills and transitions support to guide them into their future, whether that be into employment, university and/or independent living.
As a national college many of our students travel from all across the UK to study at RNC and 17 year old Charlotte Milburn from County Durham, Chair of the Student Representative Group, says “Coming to a college so far away from home and living in a completely new environment was scary to begin with, but the college had all the right support in place to make sure that all students were happy and always had someone to talk to. Living independently has boosted my confidence massively and I am so much more independent and confident since starting at RNC.”
