Every 4 years, on 29 February, Rare Disease Day is celebrated internationally to raise awareness of less well known medical conditions. Here, at The Royal National College for the Blind (RNC), we know that there is a whole spectrum of different eye conditions with over 70 different visual impairments among our student body!

Watch the hilarious podcast below to hear siblings Joe and Ellie Wait from Cwmbran, Wales, along with staff member Tim Morton, as the three ‘achromateers’ talk openly about what it’s like to have achromatopsia through a series of entertaining anecdotes and observations, starting with the pronunciation of the condition…

If you are interested in coming to visit RNC for an informal tour, please call our student enquiries line on 01432 376 621 or email info@rnc.ac.uk
