The RNC Young Enterprise team snare themselves a ‘dragon’

RNC Young Enterprise team iA Games pose with their award, beside Business Studies Teacher Steve Ramsdale and his Gold award, and Paralympic gold medallist Sascha Kindred

Last Thursday 8 May RNC Young Enterprise team iA Games (producer of inclusive board games) competed with 9 other winners from the whole of Worcestershire and Herefordshire at the impressive Worcestershire County Hall.

The standard was very high and only 5 of the 10 Companies present won a prize. It is pleasing to say one of those companies was our own iA Games.  They won one of the major prizes (£100) for best presentation, sponsored by QinetiQ. (Defence electronics business in Malvern).

iA Games were also highly commended for the John King Award. John is a professional business trouble-shooter based in Herefordshire who invests in small start-up businesses. Similarly to the Dragons on the BBC’s Dragons Den. John has offered iA Games 6 months of free Business Consultation and Support as part of their commendation. (Professional Business Consultants are not cheap)!

The winner of the overall First Prize was awarded to HindSight, from the very prestigious King’s School of Worcester, for their cook book. They will go on to the West Midlands Final at Coventry University.

Well done to the members of the iAGames team who did a marvellous job on the day, particularly Alex, Colin, Haydar, Serkan, Scott, and for the support of RNC Director of Learning John Lynch throughout the day and all the other RNC staff involved with supporting the project.

Special thanks to Steve Ramsdale, RNC Business Teacher who was recently awarded the Young Enterprise Gold awards for his longstanding contributions over the years.
