National Work experience week is taking place 12-16 October 2015 and at the Royal National College for the Blind (RNC) we want to raise awareness of the benefits associated with high quality work experience, both for our students and for the employers who offer the work placement.

At RNC, we prepare our students for realising independence when they leave us and being confident in the workplace can form a central part of achieving this. RNC Director of Learning and Curriculum Nicola Smith explains “Work placements build confidence and equip our students with certain skills such as team working, communication skills and commercial awareness, all of which are sought after by employers for any role in any business. This will support them to differentiate themselves from others and is a priority when competition for jobs in the current economic climate is so fierce.”
