Applications Invited for New College Governors
The Royal National College for the Blind (RNC) is committed to a world where every person with a visual impairment has true equality. RNC in Hereford is a further education college and charity with a national and international reputation.
We offer a wide range of academic and vocational qualifications, providing specialist learning and residential support to students with visual impairments. Our residential provision is rated as Outstanding. thePoint4, integral to the college, is an international paralympic leisure and fitness centre open to the public.
We are looking for Governors from a range of backgrounds, including people with experience of further/higher or special education, property development/ management and fundraising. We aim to strengthen the diversity of our Board and welcome applications from women, persons with a disability, and people from BAME communities.
Governors attend six Board meetings annually and join at least one Committee. In this voluntary role, you will gain valuable experience of collective responsibility, and how to challenge effectively. Induction and training are provided, and participation in College events and activities is encouraged. Appointments are subject to enhanced DBS checks.
