Duration of programme
18 to 24 weeks
Entry Requirements
There are no formal entry requirements, however an interest in people, your own health and personal growth are essential along with self-motivation, good communication skills a caring nature and good fitness levels. Basic computer skills are needed for this course
Course Information
Mandatory Units are Anatomy & Physiology, Holistic Massage, and Business
A selection of Complementary Therapies are available to learn, depending on abilities and interests, and include:
- Indian Head
- On-site Chair
Teaching Methods
Therapies are taught in small groups which promote independent working. Internal and external clinics are all supervised
Assessment Methods
Formal summative exams preceded by a series of mock exams. Supervised clinics which require written case studies
Course Enrichment Opportunities
Experiential learning, including early interaction with clients in both internal and external clinics. Outings to the local Carers Association, Parkinson’s Society, Welsh Judo Team and Triathlon Clubs, for example
Progression Opportunities
Paid work. Anything from working in hospices, football clubs to self-employment
Work Based Learning
Clinics, both internal and external, and work at sporting events
