Course Enrichment Opportunities
There are many enrichment opportunities at RNC’s thePoint4 facility that aid learning experiences and further develop instructing skills. For example, a variety of fitness classes allow you to observe other instructors, such as Spinning, Boxercise, Yoga, and Pilates
Progression Opportunities
Many students progress on to study the NVQ Level 2 Instructing Exercise and Fitness qualification
Work Based Learning
The Level 1 Award in Fitness and Physical Activity provides many opportunities to experience real work based learning and develop practical skills through the provision of evening classes in which they can assist, under supervision, in a state of the art facility where all equipment is Inclusive Fitness Initiative (IFI) accredited. Other opportunities include working as part of a team in running the gym, for example on gym inductions, fitness testing and personal training
Every student does some part-time work experience through the year and takes part in a dedicated week of work experience. For this course, work experience within a sports centre or gym would be advisable
