Statement from thePoint4: Coronavirus (Covid 19)
17 March 2020
At the end of business today, 22:00 on Tuesday, 17 March 2020, thePoint4 will be closing its doors until after Easter.
As a charity-owned business that supports the work of The Royal National College for the Blind (RNC), we don’t take this decision lightly. However, the health and safety of our members, staff, students and the local community are paramount.
We will review the position after the Easter holidays. In the meantime, please check our website (www.thepoint4.co.uk) and social media for regular updates.
We thank you for your continued support and well wishes during this time.
FAQs
As a member, how will this affect my membership?
From the point that we close we can offer the following options depending on your membership:
Freeze your membership until we reopen (direct debits will not be drawn upon).
If you have an annual membership we will extend the lifetime of your membership to cover the closure of thePoint4.
Any part-paid month will be extended once we re-open.
Are thePoint4 staff safe and secure in their roles?
RNC will support our staff to be redeployed, where appropriate, to other parts of the College to help support our students’ needs.
I have a booking with you, will I be charged?
There will be no charge.
I have a regular block booking with you, will I lose this time slot?
We plan to honour all regular bookings when we re-open.
How will cleaning standards be maintained during the period of closure?
On top of the already high standards of day to day cleaning, we will undertake a deep clean of the entire facility from Wednesday, 18 March. Prior to re-opening this will be repeated.
