Celebrating Visual Impairment Education
Staff and students from the College had the honour of attending a Celebration of Visual Impairment Education at the University of Birmingham on 16 June, in conjunction with the IBSA World Games.
The event served as a platform to explore the invaluable contribution of educators in the VI sector and featured inspiring testimonials from young people, including RNC students Jay, Kieran and Mo. A wonderful keynote presentation was also provided by three-time Paralympian, David Clarke OBE.
The event also marked the launch of the policy campaign for the Curriculum Framework for Children and Young People with a VI.
Representatives from RNC thoroughly enjoyed the event which was a tremendous success in highlighting the important work that specialist schools and colleges do, along with many other professionals around the country.
Thanks and congratulations to Rachel Hewett and her colleagues at the Vision Impairment Centre for Teaching and Research, University of Birmingham, for putting on such a great event.
