Local runner set to tackle London Marathon 2024

Experienced marathon runner Ieuan Vale-Smith, a member of Hereford Couriers Running Club, is tackling the TCS London Marathon for the second time on Sunday 21 April 2024. This time in support of young people with visual impairment who attend RNC.


Ieuan, 26, has lived in Hereford all his life and is looking forward to the marathon.

‘It’s been interesting to experience the difference between summer and winter marathon training,’ he explains. ‘However, living in Holme Lacy has posed its own logistical issues because it’s a nightmare running on the country lanes in the cold, dark and wet.’

Ieuan’s solution has been to fit in his training in town, running straight after work from the car dealership where he is based.

RNC is a registered charity so is very grateful for Ieaun’s support. Funds raised ensure the College can continue to provide a range of extra-curricular activities, the latest equipment such as IT, as well as continued improvements to the campus for current and future students.
