The results are a testament to the dedication of RNC students and the College's unique commitment to holistic student development.
As a specialist college, RNC prides itself on providing comprehensive support that underpins academic and vocational performance. Every student at RNC benefits from a tailored programme designed to equip them with the essential tools for successful independent living. This includes intensive training in Independent Living Skills, Mobility, Assistive Digital Skills, and Braille.
These vital skills provide a strong foundation for their learning journey and beyond.
Claire Lewin, Director of Learning and Curriculum (Curriculum and Teaching Strategy), said:
'Our students face unique challenges, as they are not only concentrating on their academic and vocational studies but are also mastering critical independent living skills. They have to work harder than most students, which makes us even more thrilled with this year's results. This achievement reflects their incredible resilience, hard work, and the dedication of our staff who provide academic excellence and crucial life skills.'
The results:
Students achieved an impressive overall
pass rate of 94% for A Levels
across all subjects (Biology, English Literature, German, History, Mathematics, Psychology and Spanish). Added to this,
100% of students have
secured their first choices at university.
Students undertaking
the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) achieved an outstanding 92% overall pass rate
,
with 75% obtaining A*-C grades.
This qualification is highly valued by universities and employers alike and reflects the students' ability to conduct independent research and produce high-quality work.
The College has also seen a remarkable
97% pass rate in Level 3 equivalent qualifications
across all subjects (Business Studies, Creative Music Industries, IT, Health and Social Care, Massage and Complementary Therapies, and Sports Coaching).
28% received a Distinction or Distinction*
, highlighting RNC's dedication to providing robust vocational pathways for its students to gain meaningful employment.
Most importantly, a
100% pass rate in Level 3 Braille
was achieved. As Braille celebrates its 200th anniversary in 2025, RNC remains a huge advocate for this vital form of communication, which is still very much an essential skill for our students.
The outstanding pass rate across all subjects showcases the College's commitment to enabling students to reach their full potential, preparing them not just for examinations, but for successful transitions to university studies or suitable employment, and for a fulfilling independent life.
