A final French breakfast for the group before heading to the Metro station for a visit to a food market. Where those that felt like it, tried the traditional French dishes of frogs legs and snails. Then it was a quick lunch before travelling to the airport for the long journey home. Merci beaucoup et bon voyage! Some of the sweet treats at the food market It's all nuts at the food market! Trying out the snails! Time to say au revoir to Lyon - the group starts to assemble outside with their luggage Waiting at the airport --------------------------------------------------
Another busy day. Gabs and Meg visited a local primary school and were greeted by French children singing. They also met nurses and discussed student wellbeing. Other students went for a boat ride and some decided to go shopping. That evening it was time to get dressed up and head out with representatives from our exchange school, Cite Scolaire Rene Pellet, for some fine dining. It was an opportunity to say thank you to our hosts for a wonderful visit. Some of the beautiful cakes in a patisserie Haris and Luc at dinner Some of the group chatting together after the meal Another of the group tables after dinner An exquisite looking dessert

On Day 3 students visited the Amphitheatre of Three Gauls, followed by a trip to a creperie. It was very hot so everyone was really grateful for an outing to Lake Miribel, a beautiful 350 hectare lake with beaches and opportunities for bathing. The group enjoyed the cool down and ate a picnic supper at the Lake. Will manages to keep his trousers dry! Day 2 started on a high when, after breakfast, a visit to Cite Scolaire Rene Pellet resulted in a game of 'le basket'. Then it was time for some sightseeing and cultural experiences. Students visited Place Bellecour, a UNESCO World Heritage site, and Basilique Notre-Dame de Fourviere, followed by lunch in a cafe and some research on wellbeing in a cat cafe.
