Aaron Ford

Head of Sports Academy and Complementary Therapies
(Lead responsibility for Student Cohort)

An enthusiastic sportsman and qualified teacher and coach, Aaron has been competing in both team and individual sports since the age of six.

Aaron began working at RNC in 2008 following completion of a sports science degree. Since then he has worked with and supported many young people who are blind or partially sighted within a range of sports and has been instrumental in the growth and development of the College's Sports Academy - the only specialist academy for blind and VI sports in Europe.

Although Aaron supports and coaches our students across several sports he specialises in Goalball.

Aaron’s passion for talent development within Goalball led to his selection as performance coach for the national GB women’s Goalball squad. He held the role from 2014 to 2024. Aaron continues to work within performance sport alongside his RNC teaching role and is developing pathways at the Academy for students to progress from grass roots through to a professional level in both the men's and women’s national squads.


Aaron is the TASS Delivery Site Lead. A programme that oversees supporting talented and dual career athletes.
