Reducing the risk of Coronavirus
Please note, at the moment, to ensure our students' health, safety and wellbeing during the pandemic, when on campus our student body are divided into three separate household bubbles based on their programme of study, rather than age.
Each household lives, studies and socialises together and the households do not mix. Each household is based in a separate hall of residence - either Campbell Hall, Dowdell Hall or Stephens Hall.
RNC provides you with a supportive, enabling residential environment that will develop your confidence to study independently and, just as importantly, to live independently.
We understand that living away from home can be daunting, but it’s also an exciting and life changing experience and we’re here to help and support you every step of the way. During your Pre-Entry Assessment we will talk to you about living at RNC and put you together with other students of a similar age and with similar interests, so it’s never hard to make friends and find things to do.
As a student over the age of 18 you will live in Stephens Hall. All rooms enjoy en-suite facilities with shared living and kitchen areas; in addition, there are a number of self-contained flats. The flats have their own kitchen and living areas and provide the opportunity for you to experience an increased level of independent living.
Our outstanding Residential Team is on hand 24 hours a day to provide support and ensure that moving away from home and living more independently is a smooth and exciting process for you.
Wellbeing Support Officers (WSOs)
Our Wellbeing Support Officers provide dedicated, individual, personal support to students with additional physical needs, which will be identified during your Pre-Entry Assessment. This may include personal care, additional mobility/ access support, completing daily therapy routines and enabling you to develop skills to maximise your future independence.
Getting Around Campus
You will have one to one sessions with our Orientation and Mobility (O&M) Team, who will help you to familiarise yourself with the campus so you are able to quickly get your bearings. Our Residential Team is also on hand to help you learn routes until you have developed your confidence.
